The thermosetting powder coatings are formed as the result of particles fusion and the subsequent chemical reactions. These are neither fusible nor soluble. Usually their chemical composition drastically differs from the initial powders’ composition. This group includes powder coatings based on epoxy and polyester resins, acrylates, polyurethane. This group’s compositions are suitable for coating the items requiring the surface hardness, resistance and good decorative properties. Epoxy powders, polyester, epoxy-polyester, polyurethane and acrylic powders are included in this group.
The application method is electrostatic (corona- or tribo-charging of powder).
